Recent blizzards gave way to cold on a whole other level from anything I've experienced in the United Kingdom in my life time.
It was -15.5C when I was taking these photos.
Even the ducks have to stand on the frozen weir....below is the frozen River Braid.
The temperature has stayed below -15C for 5 days of this week.
The morning of the 23rd December saw -19.1C. We saw -18C on the other three days.
This in a week where Castlederg's official reading broke the all time lowest Northern Irish and Irish records twice in one week. -18.0C and then -18.6 (23rd Dec).
Motorways are iced up to hell. Death traps....you slide even on the straights.
Pretty dire and desparate and we're hoping for a thaw soon.
